  • The inspiration for this game started back when I was a senior in high school and was flying out from Virginia to visit ASU. Having lived in Virginia I was use to seeing green everywhere but I was not expecting this to continue once I got to Arizona. I assumed it would be very brown. Needless to say I was wrong and a good portion of the houses I…[Read more]

Ever since moving to the Phoenix a few months ago one of the things that has annoyed me is all the grass especially on golf courses. I used this as the motivation toward my game. My game is set in the future when phoenix is running out of water. There is only 60% of what is needed for a year left in reserve. The player’s goal is to make it through…[Read more]

    • If you haven’t yet, I totally suggest reading up on the LA water crisis and drought. You might get some last minute ideas for your game.

    • Sam, I think that is good motivation. If it is successful, it’d be a great application tool for people to understand conservation and make them think of ways to cut down on water usage.

Sam: I am going to make a game like spent about conserving water
Torrie: I am going to make a game similar to life but in a high school setting
Eric: I’m going to work on a middle class individual who has to choice to help those who need financial help or himself. (look into welfare)

    Cassel:
I think that games definitely do aim either toward girls or boys. With the vast majority focused toward boys. In my opinion the only true exception to this is nintendo who will make games that both genders will can play comfortably. The majority of the characters are male but there are a large percentage of female characters. Most of those…[Read more]

    Everett and Watkins

We have heard the video games are not good for teaching content. They are good at giving experiences that can teach you. By integrating youth into these environments that teach stereotypical “ghetto behavior” we are perpetuating these ideals. Is that what we were suppose to grab from this article?

Your impact guide looks good. I don’t have anything to add to it!

  • World wouldn’t let me change the picture I’m not sure what to do about that.

    • I would ask Adam, I had no trouble with my picture, everything looks great!

I had the same exact problem. If you find out mind posting it here?

    • Hey i think this looks good, just fix your picture and finalize the product. I didn’t see anything but spell check is always your friend so don’t forget to check!

Steinkhuler- What is needed for these online communities to form? If a new games is posted with social function do they automatically coming into being or are they designed by the creators of the game?

What is the damage that could possibly happen if you try to change a community?

This looks good. Few minor biology corrections though, there was no bacteria in the game only viruses attacked the cell and viruses themselves are not cells. I also don’t know how well diversity of life works for a theme since your cell is the only thing that is alive in the game, viruses are not considered to be alive.

    CellCraft pitch

IMPACT AREAS • Educational Relevancy – This game is the epitome of educational relevancy. It teaches about all the organelles of the cell and the processes of making all the things inside of cell. It also teaches about the chemicals that make life possible.
    • Public Health– This is a good example for public health since it shows t…[Read more]

the only theme I’ve thought of is survival. I’m still thinking for the pitch

I thought this was a great game. I loved how it immerses you into the functions of the cell and showed you what each molecule and organelle did for the cell. This game is presented in a way that a middle schooler can understand but it also goes more in depth so that it could be easily be used for a high school biology class, given that students…[Read more]

    • Glad to hear you enjoyed it too, what themes did you see? I had trouble with thinking about themes while playing the game?

    • Also do you have any pitch ideas so far? I have started thinking of a couple questions

  • Sam Robison posted a new activity comment 4 years ago

I think its a good thing that the play experiences were similar the game is suppose to teach, it should teach everyone equally

  • Sam Robison posted a new activity comment 4 years ago

I had a similar experience with this game. I found it hard to play. I also had no idea how to navigate politics

What is the role of advisors in the game? Did you find them helpful or were they another obstacle for you to overcome? [+1]

They were not helpful at all they only stated obvious things like bombing Palestine will make Palestinians not like you.

Who do you need to cooperate with to achieve your goals in the game? How easy or difficult was it to…[Read more]

    • This game was too complicated, it was hard for me to compliment both sides, well, if i did, i would not be here. I felt it was difficult to be a good leader, too much stuff needed to be concerned.
