I first begin with the theme my game is based off which is of course integrity. The definition that one can find for the word integrity is: the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness. The way I would define integrity, is to do what is ethically correct and do it because it is the right thing to do. Although the thought of doing a game that encourages people to have more integrity has crossed my mind several times, I found that there are so many examples in our society of people doing morally wrong things for the simplest reason and wanted to show that.
The first version of the game, involved taking a set of playing cards, a dice app on a phone, and paper and pencil to keep track of the score. The reason why we had a dice app instead of actual dice was because there was no actual dice to be had. Furthermore, this prototype was actually made and set up in a short amount of time using only the foundation decided upon before, as mentioned above. That being said, I needed to begin testing what worked and didn’t work and start smoothing the details. As a result, the rules of the first prototype were made on the fly and were very rough.
